The new school year is just around the corner. Are you ready? In addition to buying school supplies and reviewing your schedule, there are other important things you need to do to prepare. One critical thing to check on is your computer. If you or your student will be using a laptop for class, you’ll want to make sure it’s in good working condition. MP Computer Services is your local computer repair service and we want you to have a great classroom experience. Here are four ways you can get your computer up to speed for the new school year.
- Get it serviced – Many students have to get a checkup before they return to class. Did you know that your computer needs one, too? Bring it to a repair shop for an inspection. While it’s in the shop, technicians can perform any necessary maintenance.
- Install updates – How often do you ignore those notices to update your computer? While the updates may seem minor, failing to install them can affect the operation of your machine. Get things up-to-date and your computer will likely process data more efficiently – and faster, too.
- Clean up your files – If your desktop’s gotten too cluttered to find what you need, take a few moments to clean it off. Delete files you don’t use and consolidate related items into folders. Uninstall programs you no longer use, move photos to cloud storage, and back up any important documents on an external hard drive. Freeing up some space will also help your computer operate better.
- Install antivirus software – If you don’t already have it, install antivirus and spyware protection programs on your computer. The last thing you want is for a computer virus to wipe out all of your hard work. Save yourself from a lot of stress this semester by protecting your computer upfront.
If your computer crashes or has other propblems, give MP Computer Services a call. Our computer repair technicians will help you recover your files and fix any problems.
